Woori Financial Group Holds Board Meeting to Confirm Outside Director Candidates
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Woori Financial Group announced on the 6th that it has finalized the candidates for outside directors and held a board meeting to convene an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders.
Following the sale of shares by the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation on December 9 last year, Eugene Private Equity (Eugene PE), which acquired a 4% stake in Woori Financial Group, gained the right to recommend outside directors and nominated Shin Yohwan, a former CEO of Shin Young Securities, as a candidate for outside director.
Fubon Life, a current major shareholder, recommended Yoon Inseop, who previously served as chairman of the board at Fubon Hyundai Life, to replace director Cheom Munak, who resigned due to personal reasons. Mr. Yoon holds a master's degree in accounting and is a professional manager who has served as CEO of multiple financial companies.
