Personal Information Protection Commission Appoints 3 New Members to Dispute Mediation Committee
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Personal Information Protection Commission announced on the 14th that it has newly appointed three members to the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (Dispute Mediation Committee) under its jurisdiction.
The newly appointed members are Oh Jong-geun, attorney at Deokmin Law Firm, Kim Areum, attorney at Gwangjang Law Firm, and Lee Rori, professor of law at Keimyung University, totaling three members. The Dispute Mediation Committee consists of 20 experts from various fields such as academia and the legal profession, participating as members in accordance with Article 40 of the Personal Information Protection Act, with a term of two years.
The Dispute Mediation Committee is an institution that supports the prompt and amicable resolution of disputes arising from personal information infringement through mediation instead of litigation, and when mediation is established, it has the effect of a court settlement.
