Late Son Jeongmin's Father: "Why Does Jeongmin's Friend A Exaggerate the Reenactment Scene... 'That Guy' Has Overwhelming Authority"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Son Hyun (50), the father of Son Jeongmin (22), who was found dead after going missing at Seoul Hangang Park, expressed discomfort about the reenactment scenes in SBS's "Unanswered Questions" (hereafter referred to as "UQ").
On the 9th, Son Hyun posted on his blog titled "Irreversible Broadcast," stating, "While watching UQ, I noticed unnecessary reenactments."
Son uploaded the actual CCTV footage from the time of the incident alongside the reenactment scenes of friend A, which appeared on UQ. He claimed that UQ "deliberately emphasized the staggering by twisting the scene and included the reenactment."
He continued, "If there was no original footage, I could understand the reenactment, but I want to know why they included exaggerated scenes," adding, "Irreversible means that once seen, it remains in the mind, and apologies or regrets are of little use. It is truly a powerful authority."
Son also mentioned the wounds on Jeongmin’s cheek when the body was found. He asked, "If someone hit him, who would be the person to reveal that?" and lamented, "The police and the broadcast show no interest since it is not a direct cause of death. Experts might say the head wound is also not a direct cause of death and leave it at that, but as a parent, I cannot contain my anger about who slapped my son’s cheek while he was alive."

Earlier, on the 3rd, Son had raised questions about the UQ broadcast content on his blog. He wrote, "There are 19 complaints to make against UQ," and added, "The peak viewership rating was as high as 11%, and I feel like I contributed the most but was completely exploited."
Son said, "Despite being busy, I gave interviews, provided materials, and firmly believed it would be helpful. Later, I even submitted the autopsy report through an information disclosure request, but I am really angry," and asked, "What should I do about inaccuracies that need correction and intentional misrepresentations?"
He also attached photos of police announcement materials, stating, "The shortest distance claimed by the witness who says he is a fisherman is 86m, and the longest distance is 111m." He added, "UQ also has this footage," and posted a photo of the broadcast screen, saying, "The shortest distance is 86m, but in the broadcast, it was about 80m."
Son expressed dissatisfaction, saying, "In the reenactment scenes in the broadcast, the face was almost visible. Does this look like a perspective from over 86m away?" He said, "The reenactment should have been done from over 100m away, but they reenacted it at a distance where the person could be recognized and called it 80m."
