Hancom Establishes New Corporation 'Arowana Hub'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Hancom Group announced on the 21st that it has established a new operating corporation for the Arowana Project, Arowana Hub, and appointed Jeon Dongwook, the current CEO of Hancom MDS, as its representative.
The newly established Arowana Hub distributed a portion of the 500 million tokens held by the Arowana Foundation to domestic partner companies on the same day, signaling the construction and expansion of the Arowana ecosystem through profit returns and reinvestment.
Partner companies include Hancom Group affiliates such as Arowana Gold Jewelry, Arowana Gold Exchange (formerly Hancom Gold Exchange), Hancom With, Hancom Codegate, Hancom Robotics, Hancom Intelligence, and Hancom Academy.
Arowana Hub will distribute Arowana tokens according to the distribution and marketing plans of partner companies, including Hancom Group affiliates, and the partners plan to utilize Arowana tokens as points or mileage for their products or services.
Partner companies are expected to contribute to the increase in token value by using part of the profits generated from token-linked businesses to repurchase tokens. Additionally, partners will return a portion of the profits from token distribution to Arowana Hub, which will reinvest all profits exclusively into the Arowana Project business to create a virtuous ecosystem.
To this end, the Arowana Foundation changed the ownership structure so that Arowana Hub holds 95% of the shares and Arowana Gold Jewelry holds 5%. For more transparent operations, Arowana Hub plans to perform compliance monitoring functions through compliance tasks and legal advice from law firms, and regularly share token distribution information and plans.
A Hancom Group official said, “We plan to operate tokens to practically contribute to the growth of digital financial platform businesses and partner companies, and we will take the lead in creating a healthier market by successfully establishing a virtuous ecosystem that shares value and coexists.”
