Tourism Organization Conducts Safety Inspections at Over 480 Korea Tourism Quality Certified Accommodations
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 26th that it will begin providing specialized hygiene consulting and quarantine service support for accommodations certified under the Korea Tourism Quality Certification starting in June.
This project will be carried out sequentially for approximately 480 Korea Tourism Quality Certified accommodations distributed nationwide. Systematic hygiene inspections and sterilization services will be supported through professional companies. Specialized consulting services will also be provided to help accommodations manage their own hygiene.
Additionally, eco-friendly masks will be supplied to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection that may occur during face-to-face services. Support to enhance the safety capabilities of certified accommodations will also be provided, including the provision of throwable emergency fire extinguishers for Hanok-certified establishments vulnerable to fire hazards.
Shim Hyeryeon, head of the Tourism Certification Center at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, “We will continue to make efforts to improve the hygiene quality of certified accommodations and strengthen COVID-19 response capabilities through urgent quarantine supplies and special hygiene and quarantine support.”
