[Asia Economy Reporter Kim So-young] Kim Hyun-chul, the second son of former President Kim Young-sam and distinguished professor at Dongguk University, sharply criticized Kim Jong-in, former emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party who recently left the party, saying, "Do not step forward anymore."
On the 11th, Professor Kim wrote on his Facebook, "Mr. Kim Jong-in, if you have fulfilled your role, do not meet people or the media anymore. Quietly rest with your family and spend the rest of your life peacefully."
He added, "The people voted not because they liked the People Power Party, but out of anger at this administration's arrogance, hypocrisy, and incompetence. Do not be under the illusion that you won because you were particularly good."
He continued, "You showed several times during the election period that you were obstructing opposition unity, which confused many people. Many were worried that you might ruin the election. You should know this. From now on, whether in the ruling or opposition party, even a small mistake can lead to immediate downfall, so you must be especially careful with your words and actions. But as soon as you left the party, you spewed not words of encouragement but harsh criticism, which looks very bad," he criticized.

He also said, "Even without you, the opposition has enough capability to win next year's presidential election. If you truly care about the opposition, do not step forward anymore. I firmly believe that if the opposition unites tightly like in this by-election, victory in next year's presidential election is guaranteed."
