[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Toyota Korea announced on the 5th that it held an online award ceremony for the winners of the '2021 Dream Car Art Contest' and the Korean preliminary round on the 2nd.
Toyota's Dream Car Art Contest is a global project held annually since 2004, targeting children worldwide. It is an art competition where children freely express their ideas of a 'dream car' through drawings.
In the domestic preliminary round held before the global finals, a record number of approximately 2,360 works were submitted. After judging based on three criteria: 'message delivery,' 'creativity,' and 'artistry,' a total of 59 works were finally selected.
Toyota Korea divided the participants into age groups: under 8 years old, 8 to 11 years old, and 12 to 15 years old, selecting one gold, one silver, and one bronze winner in each category, totaling nine winners. Awardees receive prize money and benefits including the donation of art-related books worth 500,000 KRW to their respective schools or institutions, as well as qualification to advance to the global finals (World Contest).
