Ioniq 5, Approximately 25,000 Pre-Orders on First Day... Record High
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Hyundai Motor Company's first dedicated electric vehicle, the 'Ioniq 5,' unveiled on the 23rd, reportedly recorded about 25,000 pre-orders on the first day.
According to the industry on the 25th, the Ioniq 5 received approximately 25,000 contracts on the first day of pre-orders alone, approaching this year's annual sales target of 26,500 units.
This level breaks the record for the highest number of pre-orders on the first day among all models ever released by Hyundai Motor Group. Previously, the 4th generation Carnival, launched in August last year, held the record with 23,000 units.
The price of the Ioniq 5 (before electric vehicle tax benefits, based on a 3.5% individual consumption tax) is in the low 50 million KRW range for the Exclusive trim and mid-50 million KRW range for the Prestige trim.

Considering a maximum individual consumption tax benefit of 3 million KRW and purchase subsidies (12 million KRW based on Seoul city standards), the Long Range Exclusive trim is expected to be available for purchase in the high 30 million KRW range.
