Renault Samsung Holds '2021 Partner Convention'... "We Will Coexist with Partners"
Renault Samsung Motors held the 2021 Partner Convention on the 9th of this month at the Renault Samsung Motors Research Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Renault Samsung Motors recently announced on the 10th that it held the '2021 Supplier Convention (2021 RSM Supplier Convention)' at the Renault Samsung Motors Research Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
The event consisted of a presentation session sharing the business status of the Renault Group and Renault Samsung Motors and this year's management plans with suppliers, and an awards ceremony for the '2020 Best Supplier of the Year,' recognizing outstanding suppliers who made significant contributions to Renault Samsung Motors' research and development and production last year.
Notably, this year's event was held both online and offline in accordance with the social distancing level 2.5 guidelines. Present at the event were Dominic Signora, President of Renault Samsung Motors, and representatives from 31 major partner companies. Additionally, 193 suppliers participated in the event via online streaming through invitations sent in advance. Many regional heads and purchasing managers from Renault Group headquarters in France, including V?ronique Salletdepo, Chief Purchasing Officer (CPO) of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, also attended online.
First, Chairperson Salletdepo shared the key points of the new management strategy 'Renaulution,' announced by the Renault Group in January, which focuses on strengthening profitability, and urged suppliers to unite in support. Chairperson Salletdepo stated, "This year is a period focused on cost improvement and profit generation, requiring closer cooperation within the alliance than ever before. Since Korean suppliers contribute significantly to the group, if they work together to strengthen Renault Samsung Motors' competitiveness, it will greatly help overcome the current crisis."

President Signora announced Renault Samsung Motors' performance in 2020, explained the medium- to long-term goals and outlook for this year, and the implementation of Renault Samsung Motors' survival plan. He especially comforted suppliers who had a difficult year due to COVID-19 last year and shared plans to launch the XM3 hybrid model in the European market in the first half of this year, emphasizing that suppliers should also work together to secure product competitiveness and price competitiveness in Europe. President Signora said, "We will closely cooperate and spare no support for each other so that both Renault Samsung Motors and its suppliers can overcome the current crisis and coexist successfully."
