New Chief of Policy Office at Ministry of Economy and Finance: Lee Jong-wook, Head of Economic Advisory Meeting Support Team
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sun-hee] Lee Jong-wook, head of the Support Group of the National Economic Advisory Council (56), has been appointed as the new Planning and Coordination Office Director of the Ministry of Economy and Finance. This follow-up personnel change occurred as the former director, Baek Seung-ju, retired to assume the position of Deputy Director at the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) starting at the end of this month.
On the 1st, the Ministry of Economy and Finance announced through a press release that Lee was appointed as the Planning and Coordination Office Director effective that day.
Lee, who holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Seoul National University, a master's degree in public administration, and a master's degree in finance from Michigan State University, entered the ministry through the 35th administrative examination. He has served as director of the Treasury Division, the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Budget Division, and the Education and Science Budget Division, and was dispatched to the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Committee. He also held positions such as Director of the Long-term Strategy Bureau and Director of the Treasury Bureau at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
