Ministry of Education Reviews and Approves Amendment to 'University Establishment and Operation Regulations'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] When reducing enrollment quotas due to university mergers and consolidations, the special admission quotas for persons with disabilities will be excluded from the calculation basis for the reduced enrollment quotas.
The Ministry of Education announced on the 5th that it reviewed and approved the revision of the "Regulations on University Establishment and Operation" containing this content at the Cabinet meeting.
The core of this revision is to exclude the special admission quotas for persons with disabilities from the basis for calculating enrollment reductions during university mergers and consolidations, thereby guaranteeing higher education opportunities for persons with disabilities. The Ministry of Education expects this to enhance employment competitiveness and job opportunities for persons with disabilities.
