209 New COVID-19 Cases in Seoul by 6 PM... Infection Spread in Nursing and Welfare Facilities

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that from midnight to 6 p.m. on the 30th, a total of 209 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were reported in Seoul over an 18-hour period.
Compared to the same time frame the previous day, this is 9 more cases than the 200 reported. Among the new confirmed cases, 208 were domestically transmitted and 1 was imported from overseas.
The infection route for the new confirmed cases includes 12 cases linked to a cluster infection at a nursing facilityⅡ located in Yangcheon-gu.
Additional confirmed cases were reported in ongoing cluster infections: 10 related to a church in Jungnang-gu, 4 linked to a facility for the disabled in Songpa-gu, and 4 connected to a senior welfare facility in Dongdaemun-gu. One new confirmed case each was also reported at a postpartum care center in Guro-gu, a medical institution in Yeongdeungpo-gu, and a hospital in Nowon-gu.

There were 119 new confirmed cases who had contact with existing patients, and 46 cases with unknown infection routes. The cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Seoul has risen to 18,847.
