KOSPI Maintains Fluctuation Around '2770 Level'...Individuals Net Buy 320.6 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Ji-hwan Park] On the afternoon of the 18th, the KOSPI index fluctuated around the 2770 level, driven solely by individual investors' net buying.
As of 12:13 PM, the KOSPI stood at 2774.41, up 3.98 points (0.14%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 2770.95, up 0.52 points (0.02%) from the previous day, and continued to fluctuate within a narrow range. During the session, it reached 2782.15, approaching the all-time intraday high of 2782.79.
By investor type, foreigners and institutions sold net amounts of 102.4 billion KRW and 219.5 billion KRW respectively, while individuals bought a net 320.6 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics rose 0.14%, Celltrion increased by 1%, and LG Household & Health Care went up 0.62%. Conversely, SK Hynix fell 0.84%, LG Chem dropped 1.81%, and Samsung Biologics declined 0.25%.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index rose 2.68 points (0.28%) to 946.72 compared to the previous day. The index opened at 945.81, up 1.77 points (0.19%) from the previous close, fluctuating within a narrow range. Individuals bought a net 104.6 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions sold net amounts of 20.5 billion KRW and 65.6 billion KRW respectively.
