Seoul City Holds 100-Minute Debate to Improve Management of Villas and Officetels
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] On the 7th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government will hold an 'Online 100-Minute Debate on Improvement Measures for Collective Buildings' such as villas and officetels.
The debate will focus on sharing opinions on improvement measures and policy directions regarding the management of collective buildings, including disputes, lawsuits, and conflicts occurring on site.
Unlike apartments, which are multi-family housing subject to mandatory management, collective buildings such as villas and officetels are not subject to mandatory management and fall into a legal blind spot, making it difficult to respond to issues such as common area management, operation of management committees, unfair management fee demands, and manager misconduct.
Chairman Youngdu Kim of the Korea Collective Building Promotion Institute will moderate the session, with panelists including Yongseok Hong, former president of the Korea Collective Building Law Association, management expert Seongil Kim, lawyer Hyungpil Kwon of Logos Law Firm, and Hyunggu Lee, Policy Director of the Gwanak-gu Small Business Association.
The debate will be broadcast live on the Seoul Metropolitan Government's YouTube channel. Anyone can participate in the discussion by leaving questions and comments in the chat room.
