Ewha Womans University, 17th President Professor Kim Eun-mi
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Ewha Womans University Foundation announced on the 1st that Professor Eunmi Kim from the Department of International Studies has been appointed as the 17th president of Ewha Womans University.
President-elect Eunmi Kim received 51.9% of the valid votes in the online final round, surpassing Professor Hyeryeon Kang from the Department of Business Administration to secure the highest number of votes. The term of the 17th president will be four years starting from March 1.

President Kim graduated from Ewha Womans University in 1981 and earned her master's and doctoral degrees in sociology from Brown University in the United States. Since 1997, she has been serving as a professor at Ewha Womans University's Graduate School of International Studies. From 2007 until last year, she was the director of the Institute for International Development Cooperation, and she also served as the dean of the graduate school for two years starting in 2017.
