Nam Young-ho "Banned from EBS for running as a proportional representative of Mirae Korea Party... I have no power"
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] Nam Young-ho, a polar explorer who was assigned number 28 on the proportional representation list of the Future Korea Party (now the People Power Party) in the 21st general election but lost, expressed his frustration, saying, "I have become banned from appearing on EBS educational broadcasts because of my candidacy in the general election," and added, "It is hard to accept."
On the 14th, he posted on his Facebook, "Recently, as overseas filming has become impossible, we have been compiling past broadcasts into specials as a self-help measure. The external production company tried to air several episodes featuring me, but EBS headquarters rejected them," he said.
He continued, "The election is over now, and as a losing candidate, I have returned to my ordinary daily life. I do not hold any party position," and questioned, "So why can't I appear on educational broadcasts? Am I a person who goes against EBS's educational purpose?"
He also said, "The programs I appeared in received great responses from many viewers and achieved the highest ratings, which led to multiple appearances," adding, "If the only reason is that I have experience as a general election candidate, it is hard to accept. Isn't banning appearances and broadcasts something that applies only to criminals?"
Nam indirectly criticized, saying, "The Liberty Korea Party that recruited me and the Future Korea Party where I ran as a candidate have all disappeared and become the People Power Party. However, I have no power."
