[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] Jeong Byeongseon, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, visited the Industrial Environmental Health Laboratory at Seoul National University, which was selected as a healthy laboratory, on the 4th. Since this year, the government has been awarding healthy laboratories to create a research environment that supports the growth of young scientists. A total of six laboratories were selected this year.
The Industrial Environmental Health Laboratory at Seoul National University conducts research evaluating harmful factors to health in workplaces and environments where workers operate, such as assessing the toxicity of asbestos and detoxification methods, and studying sources of fine dust. This laboratory has been selected as an excellent safety management laboratory by the Ministry of Science and ICT for three consecutive times due to its efforts in safety management, and it also holds retreats for fostering camaraderie and regular student counseling sessions.
