Lee Jae-yong, UNIST Vice President, Awarded the Okjo Geunjeong Medal
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] Lee Jae-yong, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research at UNIST (Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering), received the Order of Okjo Geunjeong. On the 27th at 9:30 a.m., Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology held a medal conferment ceremony in the large conference room on the 6th floor of the university headquarters and presented the medal to Vice President Lee.
Vice President Lee was awarded the medal in recognition of his contributions to the development of national education through his service as an educator. Additionally, he received high praise for his dedication to the advancement of the information and communication sector in the Republic of Korea.

Vice President Lee earned a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering from Yonsei University and obtained his master's and doctoral degrees in computer engineering from the University of Iowa. Starting as a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Pohang University of Science and Technology in 1987, he served as a professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Yonsei University, head of the department, dean of the College of Engineering, and Vice President for Academic Affairs. In March, he was appointed Vice President for Research and Academic Affairs at UNIST.
