Twitter Suspends Numerous Fake Accounts Supporting Trump’s Reelection
Profile Photo Misuse of Real Individuals Including War Veterans
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Twitter has suspended a large number of fake accounts supporting U.S. President Donald Trump's re-election campaign.
According to foreign media including CNBC on the 15th, Twitter stated that these accounts violated policies related to spam and platform manipulation.
The fake accounts detected this time used images of real people as profile pictures and posted numerous tweets saying, "I am Black and I will vote for President Trump."
It is known that the fake accounts used photos of actual people, including military veterans and law enforcement officials, as profile pictures.
These accounts received more than 265,000 retweets or comments, and some were found to have over 10,000 followers.
Additionally, some accounts abused images of Black men featured in news articles to impersonate them and even uploaded photos of President Trump as their profile pictures.

Twitter has not yet disclosed how many fake accounts have been suspended or who is behind them. Twitter's website states, "We do not allow artificially amplifying or suppressing behavior that manipulates or disrupts the experience on Twitter."
