Subscription Service 'SocarPass' Surpasses 300,000 Subscribers
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] The ride-sharing platform Socar's subscription service 'Socar Pass' has surpassed 300,000 cumulative subscriptions. It took one and a half years since its official launch in March last year.
According to Socar on the 23rd, Socar Pass allows users to use over 12,000 Socar vehicles nationwide without restrictions on car type or usage frequency by paying a fixed subscription fee.
Customers who used Socar more frequently had a higher subscription rate for Socar Pass. Among Socar membership 'Socar Club' members who receive benefits based on cumulative mileage, more than half (51%) of the highest tier VIP level (over 5,000 km) were Socar Pass subscribers.
Socar Pass subscribers used Socar on average 4 hours longer per trip than general users. The average rental time per trip for Socar Pass subscribers was 12 hours, while general users averaged 7 hours.
Especially in May and August, when Socar usage was highest due to the golden holidays and vacation season this year, the rental time of Socar Pass subscribers accounted for half of the total Socar rental time.
The user who received the most benefits since the launch of Socar Pass saved approximately 16 million KRW in discounts. Mr. A, residing in the metropolitan area, used Socar about 300 times and drove a total of 9,400 km from September last year after subscribing to Socar Pass until this month. Mr. A mainly used electric vehicles with lower driving fees, which aligns with the vehicle usage pattern of Socar Pass subscribers who use electric cars about four times more than general users.
Han Seo-jin, Head of Marketing at Socar, said, "As ride-sharing expands throughout daily life and usage patterns diversify, the popularity of subscription services is rapidly increasing. We will develop a customized subscription model optimized for users' lifestyles and mobility demands based on big data."
