Children Also Study Native English Using AI View original image

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] LG CNS announced on the 2nd that it has launched a children's version of its AI English education service, 'AI Tutor.'

AI Tutor is a non-face-to-face foreign language learning service developed to enable English conversation study with just a smartphone device, having learned hundreds of thousands of English sentences through AI. The children's AI Tutor was developed based on a curriculum of 360 situational speaking lessons created by Yoon's English, a specialized English education company, for children. Depending on their English proficiency, children through middle school can use AI Tutor to learn English conversation.

AI Tutor enables contextual understanding by having AI deep-learn over 2,000 sentences developed by Yoon's English for children's education. It has enhanced language intelligence to the extent that children can speak English as if conversing with a real person. Based on this technology, if children continue natural conversations, the AI provides responses tailored to their English level. When children get stuck, it offers appropriate hints to keep the conversation going. Chang-eun Kim, Executive Director of Digital Marketing & New Business at LG CNS, said, "We developed it to enable the most natural English conversation possible by utilizing various IT new technologies such as AI voice recognition, deep learning and machine learning, and big data analysis that LG CNS possesses."

LG CNS plans to develop non-face-to-face AI language education services including TOEIC Speaking, OPIC, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French, and Korean conversation for foreigners. After launching the enterprise AI Tutor last year, LG CNS is providing AI Tutor to employees of 20 companies, including LG affiliates. In a survey conducted among users comparing it with existing non-face-to-face English learning methods such as telephone English or online lectures, 94% of respondents answered that "the learning effect of AI English education is superior."
