The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will suspend the operation of local indoor national and public facilities starting today (23rd) as the social distancing level 2, previously limited to the metropolitan area, is expanded nationwide. This includes the National Gyeongju Museum, National Gwangju Museum, National Jeonju Museum, National Daegu Museum, National Buyeo Museum, National Gongju Museum, National Jeonju Museum, National Cheongju Museum, National Gimhae Museum, National Jeju Museum, National Chuncheon Museum, National Iksan Museum, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Cheongju Branch, and National Sejong Library. Two national performance institutions, the National Gugak Center and the National Asia Culture Center, will also close their doors. The National Naju Museum, National Namdo Gugak Center, and National Busan Gugak Center have already closed at the request of local governments. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, “We will decide the reopening date while monitoring the spread of COVID-19.”
