Busan City Supports Overseas Marketing for Logistics Companies
Investment of 100 Million KRW for Dispute Resolution: Overseas Consulting, Business Network Development, and BSB Platform, etc.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City is promoting a project to assist local logistics companies with overseas marketing.
The city has launched its first overseas marketing support project this year to help local logistics companies struggling due to low technological capabilities and the downturn in the shipbuilding and shipping industries.
This project involves an investment of 100 million KRW from the city budget and aims to expand local logistics companies' entry into new overseas markets through overseas consulting, education, business network building, and the BSB platform, while systematically supporting the discovery of new growth engines.
Busan City is conducting overseas business linkage support projects using the WCA (World Cargo Alliance), which supports the global entry of local small and medium international freight forwarding companies into new markets.
Additionally, 18 companies have been selected for support in three areas: support for entry into the UN procurement logistics market, support for expanding the use of digital platforms, and support for utilizing B2B platforms.
Participating companies unanimously stated that this is an "essential support project for expanding the logistics market" and expressed hope that it will help more companies in the future.
Busan City expects this support project to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of local logistics companies by proactively responding to the paradigm shift in the logistics sector in preparation for the post-COVID era.
Busan Technopark, which is carrying out the project, plans to analyze this year's project outcomes and discover various new businesses next year to enable more logistics companies to receive support.
