National Unsold Houses Total 29,262 Units, Down 13.7% from Previous Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 30th that as of the end of last month, the total number of unsold houses nationwide was 29,262 units, a decrease of 13.7% compared to the previous month (33,894 units) and a 54.0% decrease compared to the same month last year (63,705 units).
The number of unsold houses has been continuously decreasing, with 62,741 units in May last year, 56,098 units in October of the same year, and 39,456 units in February this year.
Unsold houses after completion were recorded at 18,718 units as of the end of last month, an 18.6% increase compared to the previous month (15,788 units).
Unsold houses after completion had decreased to 19,587 units in November last year, 17,500 units in January this year, and 16,649 units in March, but turned to an increasing trend again last month.
By region, unsold houses in the metropolitan area were 2,772 units, down 8.1% from the previous month (3,016 units), and in the provinces, 26,490 units, down 14.2% from the previous month (30,878 units).
Provincial unsold houses have been decreasing for 10 consecutive months since August last year (52,054 units). It showed a 49.2% decrease compared to the same month last year (52,097 units).
By size, unsold medium to large houses over 85㎡ were recorded at 2,167 units, down 19.0% from the previous month (2,675 units), and those 85㎡ or less were 27,095 units, down 13.2% from the previous month (31,219 units).
