The Democratic Party stated that it had conducted sufficient review and debate with other opposition parties, excluding the United Future Party which did not attend the committee, and drew a clear line against criticisms of a rushed review.
Lee Hae-chan, leader of the Democratic Party, said at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the morning of the 29th, "Yesterday, the Real Estate 3 Laws including the Comprehensive Real Estate Tax, Corporate Tax, and Income Tax laws were passed in the Budget and Accounts Committee, and the Real Estate Transaction Reporting Act was passed in the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee," adding, "Today, the core of the Lease 3 Laws, the right to request contract renewal and the Housing Lease Protection Act, are scheduled to be submitted to the Judiciary Committee."
He continued, "These bills have already been discussed since the 20th National Assembly, so speed is more important than additional discussion. We must pass them in the July National Assembly to show the public the true face of a working legislature."
Lee also emphasized, "We plan to announce housing supply measures soon," and added, "Now that the Democratic Party is fully responsible for the 21st National Assembly, this is the optimal time for institutional reform and legislation to stabilize the real estate market."
Kim Tae-nyeon, floor leader of the Democratic Party, criticized, "The United Future Party is fully aware of the seriousness of the overheated real estate market but continues to stall and evade," and said, "Their strategy to gain political windfall will ultimately harm the public." He stressed, "The Democratic Party will fulfill its role as the responsible ruling party beyond the opposition's irresponsibility and non-cooperation to eradicate speculation and stabilize the market."
Kim added, "The aftermath of the 20th National Assembly, where follow-up legislation on the December 16 real estate measures failed due to opposition party resistance, has resulted in the current market overheating," and warned, "We must not repeat past mistakes. If legislation is not completed in the July National Assembly, realistically, it will only be possible in November."

He emphasized, "It was the United Future Party that left without review or debate yesterday, while the Democratic Party, Justice Party, Open Democratic Party, and other opposition parties participated, held sufficient alternative discussions, made necessary amendments and supplements, and then passed the bills."
