Samsung SDS-NHN, Expanding Joint Participation in Cloud Business
Discovering Business Models Using Cloud Products and Solutions
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Samsung SDS announced on the 28th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen strategic cooperation in the cloud business with NHN.
Through this agreement, both companies plan to collaborate by leveraging their respective cloud products and solutions to discover new business models. The cooperation includes expanding joint participation in customer cloud construction projects, collaborating on cloud-based products and solutions, and expanding data center infrastructure operation service businesses.
Both companies aim to proactively respond to digital innovation, including non-face-to-face (untact) business, and to actively lead the enhancement of cloud business competitiveness and the creation of new business opportunities based on strategic mutual cooperation.
Samsung SDS is successfully promoting cloud transformation for Samsung affiliates and external customers based on 17 data centers worldwide. Additionally, to enhance cloud business competitiveness, it is expanding cooperative relationships with domestic and international cloud providers and recently has been focusing on strengthening high-performance and high-efficiency cloud capabilities to meet demands for research and development (R&D) and artificial intelligence (AI).

Since launching the integrated cloud service 'TOAST' in 2015, NHN has entered various fields such as public, finance, gaming, and commerce, establishing itself as a leading cloud service provider (CSP) in Korea. It owns regions including the eco-friendly urban data center 'TCC1' located in Pangyo, Gyeonggi, as well as in Tokyo, Japan, and North America, and is currently preparing to build a second data center.
