Lee Je-hoon Joins Effort to Save Independent Art Cinemas in Crisis: "A Precious Guide"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actor Lee Je-hoon has lent his support to independent art cinemas facing a crisis due to COVID-19 (novel coronavirus infection).
On the 13th, Lee Je-hoon shared on his Instagram, "I am participating in the Independent Art Cinema Challenge through Choi Hee-seo. I want to express my gratitude for giving me this meaningful opportunity."
He continued, "Having grown through independent films, and even now, independent films occupy a significant part of my life. They are a very precious guide that awakens deep and broad perspectives and thoughts essential to our lives."
Lee Je-hoon said, "It is very regrettable and saddening not only as an actor but also as an audience member who has cherished precious moments in theaters that independent cinemas where such works can be seen are gradually disappearing," adding, "I kindly ask for your much interest and support so that independent cinemas can continue to exist."
Additionally, Lee Je-hoon nominated Han Ye-ri as the next participant to continue the Independent Art Cinema Challenge. He also recommended director Kim Jong-kwan's Worst Day, director Ken Loach's Sorry We Missed You, and the Dardenne brothers' The Child.
