Kospo Urges Passage of Electronic Signature Act and Other 4th Industrial Revolution-Related Bills
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] The startup industry urged the National Assembly on the 12th to pass the 4th Industrial Revolution-related bills.
The Korea Startup Forum (Kospo) demanded prompt discussions on the Electronic Signature Act, Software Promotion Act, and Framework Act on National Informatization through a statement released that morning.
Kospo stated, "On the 5th, the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting Committee approved 18 bills in a plenary session," adding, "However, if prompt discussions are not held through the Legislation and Judiciary Committee and the plenary session, there is a high risk that the bills will be automatically discarded."
On the 5th, the committee passed ▲ the amendment to the Electronic Signature Act (abolishing the public certificate and supporting blockchain utilization), ▲ the amendment to the Software Promotion Act (revitalizing the software industry and supporting education), ▲ the amendment to the Special Act on Promotion and Convergence of Information and Communications (fostering quantum information communication technology), ▲ the full amendment to the Framework Act on National Informatization (establishing a basis for AI industry and workforce policy support), and ▲ the amendment to the Act on the Establishment and Operation of Government-Funded Research Institutes in the Science and Technology Field.
