This quantity is enough for 140,000 people to purchase. They can be bought at post offices in Daegu and Cheongdo, which are special management areas for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), as well as at post offices in towns and townships nationwide. The Korea Post under the Ministry of Science and ICT announced the "Health Mask Post Office Counter Sales Plan" on the 4th.
Available for 140,000 people in total... Supply adjustment in Daegu area
On this day, masks are available for a total of 140,000 people. The total supply is 700,000 masks, and since 5 masks are sold per set (bundle), a total of 140,000 sets will be sold. The Korea Post expects that 140,000 people will be able to purchase masks since only one set is sold per person.
By region, 28,055 sets (140,275 masks) will be sold at 89 post offices located in Daegu and Cheongdo areas. Although the Korea Post did not adjust the total sales volume, the sales volume per regional post office was adjusted according to demand.
Accordingly, depending on the size of the post office, 190 to 750 sets are sold per post office. The previous day, 180 to 780 sets were sold per post office. The Korea Post reduced the quantity at seven large post offices including Daegu post office compared to the previous day, while increasing the quantity at Namdaegu, Daegu Goseong-dong, and Daegu Seongseo post offices from 285 sets the previous day to 500 sets.
At 1,317 post offices in towns and townships nationwide, 85 masks are uniformly supplied per post office, the same quantity as the previous day.

Masks will be sold starting at 11 a.m. However, at some part-time post offices, those working in the morning will sell masks at 11 a.m., and those working in the afternoon will sell them at 2 p.m.
However, post office masks are not sold at post offices in downtown areas such as Seoul. This is because masks are supplied to areas where it is difficult to purchase masks according to emergency supply and demand measures. Especially, masks are sold for elderly people who find it difficult to shop online.
The Korea Post stated, "In downtown areas including Seoul, masks can be purchased at pharmacies or Hanaro Mart."
