Hwang Kyo-ahn Visits Tapgol Park: "Let's Overcome Korea's Crisis with 'United Strength'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the United Future Party, who declared his candidacy for the Jongno district, visited Tapgol Park on the 1st to record a video message, stating, "Let us overcome the crisis of the Republic of Korea with united strength."
On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the March 1st Movement, he visited Tapgol Park, the birthplace of the March 1st Movement, to reflect on the footsteps of the patriots. However, due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), Tapgol Park was closed, and he was unable to enter.
Leader Hwang said, "Commemorating this day in 1919, I look back on the footsteps of the patriots at Tapgol Park, the birthplace of the March 1st Movement." He emphasized, "The March 1st Movement symbolizes the spirit of independence, freedom, peace, justice, and great unity. On this day in 1919, earnest hearts gathered to become a great force."
He continued, "The 33 national representatives read the Declaration of Independence and proclaimed our nation's self-reliant independence to the world," adding, "If we unite our strength, we can overcome the current crisis and conflicts. Let us overcome the 2020 crisis of the Republic of Korea with our 'united strength.'"
