View original imageOn this day, Candidate Joo presented a pledge to create high-quality sports infrastructure that makes use of Namyangju’s exceptional natural environment. His major pledges include: ▲ the development of an internationally standardized "Dasan Heritage Running Course" connecting the Jeong Yak-yong Historic Site to the Bukhangang Bicycle Path; ▲ the establishment of regional running stations for the convenience of runners; and ▲ making the "Five Major Running Festivals" unique to Namyangju—such as the Onam Lake Night Run and Gwangneung Forest Trail Run—a regular fixture. Through these initiatives, he expressed his ambition to elevate Namyangju's city brand value.
Candidate Joo emphasized, "True welfare begins when citizens can enjoy vibrant lives throughout all four seasons in their beloved local communities," adding, "Based on proven drive and execution, I will ensure that Namyangju becomes the most dynamic and desirable premier sports city in Korea."

Meanwhile, during his previous tenure as the 8th popularly elected mayor, Joo Gwangdeok achieved several milestones: laying the foundation for Namyangju—a future city of 1 million people—with the establishment of a 1,000-bed super-sized general hospital and a 400-bed innovative public medical center, attracting approximately 3.3 trillion won in corporate investment including Kakao, and ushering in a new rail era with the launch of 10 railway lines such as the GTX-B.
