Experience Being "Archaeologists for a Day"
The Gyeongju National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage announced on May 18 that it will hold the excavation experience event, "Find the Golden Ruler!", at the excavation site of the Geumcheok-ri Tomb Cluster in Geoncheon-eup, Gyeongju, from May 19 to 21.
The Geumcheok-ri Tomb Cluster is a large-scale group of ancient tombs located on the western outskirts of the Silla royal capital. Closely associated with the Geumcheok legend and the Moryangbu, one of the six divisions of Silla, it is significant for the study of Silla tomb culture.

The event will take place over three days for 110 elementary and middle school students from across the country. Participants will learn about the tomb cluster and excavation methods through lectures, and they will also take part in hands-on excavation activities as "archaeologists for a day." Upon completion of the program, they will receive an "Honorary Golden Ruler Excavation Team" certificate.
