Jo Eungcheon: "Gyeonggi-do Rental Market in Catastrophe"... Plans to Launch Direct Response Headquarters
Reform New Party Gyeonggi Governor Candidate Announces Three Major Real Estate Pledges
Jo Eungcheon, candidate for Governor of Gyeonggi Province from the Reform New Party, stated on the 13th, "The jeonse (long-term lease) market in Gyeonggi Province is currently in a state of 'civil war' that goes beyond a 'crisis.' The Lee Jaemyung administration, tasked with eradicating jeonse fraud, has instead wiped out the jeonse system itself."
On this day, at a certified real estate agency office in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, Jo announced his three major real estate pledges for the province and made these remarks. He criticized, "In order to root out the heinous crime of jeonse fraud, the government is destroying the entire legitimate rental supply chain. It is like burning down the whole house to catch a single bug."

Is it speculation to temporarily rent out your own home and live in a jeonse elsewhere because of work or your children's education?"
Jo emphasized that, to prevent a repeat of the current jeonse crisis, he would restore the freedom of residence in Gyeonggi Province through the 'Jeonse Safe Gyeonggi' initiative. To this end, he promised to establish a 'Jeonse Crisis Response Headquarters' directly under the governor within 100 days of taking office, and proposed three major reform measures.
The three measures proposed by Jo are: ▲ Complete abolition of differentiated regulations for single-home owners based on residence status ▲ Converting the land transaction permit system to a 'targeted designation' model ▲ Normalizing redevelopment projects for the first-phase new towns.
