Noh Hongchul Says, "How Many Requests Do I Get to Lend Money? Sometimes Double Digits a Day"
Hong-chul Noh Shares Struggles with Excessive Monetary Requests
"Sometimes, People Even Show Up in Person"
Broadcaster Hong-chul Noh has expressed his difficulties, stating that he is being subjected to excessive requests for money.
On May 7, Hong-chul Noh held a Q&A session with fans through his YouTube channel.
That day, when asked, "How many people contact you in a day to borrow money?" Noh replied, "Let me put it this way, it might be easier to understand. How many times do you eat a meal in a day?"

He went on to reveal his struggles, saying, "There are many people who very politely explain their difficult situations and the reasons why they need to borrow money. On days when it is particularly frequent, the number can reach double digits, and even on less busy days, I consistently meet with at least a single-digit number of people without exception. It's quite amazing."
Previously, Hong-chul Noh's wealth has been mentioned several times in various broadcasts and media outlets. In the second teaser released on May 6 for SBS's 'Beopryun Road — The Monk and the Guest', ahead of its premiere, Noh asked Monk Beopryun for advice, saying, "I've invested in stocks and cryptocurrency. Should I stop here with this rate of return, or should I wait longer?"
In April, it was also reported that he purchased a building in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for 15.2 billion won.
Meanwhile, other celebrities, in addition to Hong-chul Noh, have also complained about receiving multiple requests for money. There are many cases in which people approach celebrities—whose social reputation is important—claiming to be fans and then ask for money. Because these incidents occur behind the anonymity of social media, it is difficult to verify their authenticity, and even when they turn out to be scams, it is hard to identify or track down those responsible.
