According to the investigation, from March 16 until recently, Mr. A placed postpaid delivery orders at three outlets of the same franchise chicken restaurant in the Hwaseong area of Gyeonggi Province. He received the food but did not pay for it.
He allegedly delayed payment by saying, “I am out of the house for a moment, please text me your account number,” and then failed to transfer the money. He is accused of obtaining approximately 100,000 won worth of food through this method without paying.
On April 29, the police responded to an emergency call from an employee of the franchise headquarters who reported, “We have apprehended a person who made a false order,” and arrested Mr. A at the scene.
It was determined that this employee disguised himself as a delivery driver and waited in ambush to catch Mr. A.
A police official stated, “While verifying Mr. A’s identity at the scene following the report by the headquarters employee, we discovered that he was already wanted for failing to pay a fine related to a separate crime, which led to his arrest.”
