Mayor Park Hyungjoon: "Expanding ESG Initiatives Through Cooperation With Korea Housing Finance Corporation"
Korea Housing Finance Corporation has generously donated 300 million won for seniors in the Busan area.
The Busan Metropolitan Government announced that, together with Korea Housing Finance Corporation, it will hold a work agreement ceremony and a donation handover event for supporting local seniors on the 23rd at Busan City Hall.
On this day, Korea Housing Finance Corporation will donate 300 million won. The donated funds will be used for the following purposes: establishment of the Our Neighborhood ESG Center, remodeling of the unclaimed remains facility at Busan Yeongnak Park, support for low-income grandparent-grandchild families, and projects to improve perceptions of the elderly.
A total of 180 million won will be invested in establishing the ESG Centers. This year, the city opened new centers in Gangseo-gu, Busanjin-gu, and Buk-gu, and is expanding the project with a goal of establishing a total of 16 locations within the year.
These centers serve as hubs for creating eco-friendly jobs for seniors. To date, they have created 6,261 jobs and collected 150 tons of waste plastic, among other achievements.
