The slide attraction 'Dongjak Star' located inside the Dongjak District Office in Seoul has surpassed 50,000 cumulative riders just six months after opening. Dongjak District (Mayor Ilha Park) announced on April 23 that Dongjak Star, which opened in September last year, had exceeded 50,000 users as of February this year.

It was created both to break away from the rigid image of government offices by realizing an 'open office' concept and to stimulate the local economy by attracting more visitors. The attraction operates daily from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and visitors can ride it for 20 minutes every hour on the hour.
The 'Dongjak Star Park Play Zone', which was established together on the first basement floor of the district office, is also popular. This play zone features a range of family-friendly facilities, including table tennis, Lego, board games, AI robot Go, sand play, and a ball pool. The average number of visitors is about 260 on weekdays and 450 on weekends. The facility also operates during evening hours after work, so family visitors, including working parents, continue to visit steadily.
The popularity of these two attractions is also revitalizing the business of special rental shops inside the district office. There are 10 shops in the basement and 13 on the ground floor, including Korean, Western, and Chinese restaurants, cafes, as well as convenience stores such as hair salons, photo studios, and stationery shops. The district office is thus serving as a complex cultural hub where people can take care of play, dining, and daily services in one place, going beyond its simple role as an administrative agency.
