Governor Wansoo Park of Gyeongnam: "No More Welfare Neglect for the 4050 Generation... Establish Customized Programs"
"Focus administrative capacity on eliminating welfare blind spots and improving the system so that residents in their 40s and 50s can truly feel the benefits."
On April 20, Gyeongsangnam-do Governor Wansoo Park emphasized the need to establish customized welfare policies for those in their 40s and 50s, highlighting the importance of 'Gyeongnam-style generational welfare' during the Heads of Divisions and Departments meeting held at the provincial government office.
Governor Park stated, "The 4050 generation, who are responsible for both supporting their families and bearing economic burdens, are relatively marginalized in current welfare policies," and called for improvements in welfare programs targeting people in their 40s and 50s.
He added, "According to social survey statistics, more than half of the 4050 generation experience physical health issues and caregiving burdens," stressing, "We must not leave this generation neglected by welfare any longer."
He then instructed the relevant departments to urgently review the introduction of ▲ customized health checkups for the 4050 generation ▲ a welfare voucher system for cultural activities.

Governor Park noted, "In some sections, there may be cases where youth fares are lower than those for adolescents," adding, "Until the system is improved, it is also necessary to consider supplementary measures at the provincial level."
Regarding the constitutional amendment currently under discussion, he commented, "It is problematic that local autonomy, which has been a long-standing aspiration of metropolitan and provincial governors nationwide, has been omitted from the first constitutional revision in 39 years," and directed, "Strongly demand that the value of the era of local governance be reflected in the amendment by the national political leadership."
He also reviewed the recent surge in prices of medical consumables such as syringes and agricultural materials due to the aftermath of the war in Iran.
Governor Park ordered, "Closely monitor the supply situation of materials in the field and block any market-disturbing behaviors such as hoarding," and "Devise practical support measures to ease the economic burden on residents."
