Immediately after taking office, Hong Seung-kwon, Director of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, visited the Korean Medical Association, the Association of Korean Medicine, and the Korean Pharmaceutical Association in succession, initiating direct communication with the field.

View original imageThe Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service announced that on April 17, Director Hong visited the Korean Medical Association in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, the Association of Korean Medicine in Gayang-dong, Gangseo-gu, and the Korean Pharmaceutical Association in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, to share key messages about “co-creating healthcare innovation.”
This round of visits to medical and pharmaceutical organizations was carried out after Director Hong’s inauguration on April 13, with the aim of listening to the diverse voices from the healthcare field in a balanced manner and establishing a practical foundation for cooperation on major issues. It is interpreted as a demonstration of his commitment to building a sustainable healthcare system based on close communication with the field.
During his visit to the Korean Medical Association, Director Hong stated, “I deeply empathize with the real concerns faced by the medical community,” and added, “I will continue to communicate and cooperate so that the voices from the field are faithfully reflected in policies and systems.” When visiting the Association of Korean Medicine, he conveyed, “I respect the value and potential of Korean medicine, and I will work together to pool our wisdom for balanced development in healthcare.”
In his meeting with the Korean Pharmaceutical Association, he expressed his gratitude by saying, “I thank the pharmaceutical association for its dedication on the frontlines of public health,” and urged, “Let us work together to create a safe environment for the use of pharmaceuticals.”
Director Hong stressed, “The various challenges facing our healthcare system cannot be solved by the efforts of a single institution alone,” and he emphasized, “Guided by the voices from the field, we will work together to create a health insurance system that earns the trust of the people.”
