On April 16, Cheongdo County announced that it had received the Excellence Award in the "2026 Regulatory Reform Performance Evaluation for Cities and Counties," organized by North Gyeongsang Province. With this, Cheongdo County was selected as an excellent institution for regulatory reform for the sixth consecutive year, thereby further solidifying its status as a leading local government in regulatory reform.
This evaluation comprehensively assessed the regulatory reform performance of the past year and the overall efforts toward field-oriented improvement, based on government joint evaluation indicators and provincial self-assessment indicators, for 22 cities and counties within North Gyeongsang Province.
The county identified 55 regulatory reform agendas through initiatives such as operating a mobile regulatory reporting center to uncover inconveniences experienced by residents and difficulties faced by businesses, as well as holding a regulatory improvement idea contest. Cheongdo County has also implemented a diverse range of policies, including internal review meetings and the revision of licensing/support standards and shadow regulations related to the livelihoods of citizens.
In particular, the county’s proactive revision of local ordinances and regeneration of vacant houses while promoting the 2025 Cheongdo 10,000-Won Housing Project has been positively received as a successful case contributing to population influx and local economic revitalization.
Additionally, Cheongdo County has continued its regulatory improvement efforts by incorporating various employee ideas into policy through its own internal contests, and by winning an Encouragement Award at the North Gyeongsang Province regulatory improvement idea contest for a proposal to improve regulations by linking the three major systems related to farmland, thereby alleviating inconveniences for farmers.
