So That's Why He Drank It Often... President Trump Says "Cola Kills Cancer Cells"
US CMS Chief Shares Anecdotes About Trump's Eating Habits
Dr. Oz: "The President Claims That Soda That Kills Grass
Can Also Kill Cancer Cells"
It has been revealed that U.S. President Donald Trump made remarks suggesting that diet soda could eliminate cancer cells in the body.
According to the New York Post on the 14th (local time), Dr. Mehmet Oz, Director of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), appeared on "Triggered," a podcast hosted by President Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and shared an anecdote regarding President Trump's eating habits.
President Trump is known to prefer "zero-calorie soda" (diet cola) among regular sodas. During the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit dinner held in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, in October last year, he attracted attention by drinking diet cola specially brought in from the United States.
Dr. Oz said that whenever he and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Secretary of Health and Human Services, met with the president, Trump would press a button in his office to have diet soda brought in.
Dr. Oz stated, "The president mentioned that if you pour diet soda on grass, the grass dies. He argued that, for this reason, it could also kill cancer cells in the body."
The medical community views diet sodas as unhealthy beverages. Some studies have linked them to weight gain and insulin resistance, with some analyses suggesting that this could lead to type 2 diabetes.
Secretary Kennedy and Dr. Oz are leading the "Make America Healthy Again" campaign, urging people to reduce their consumption of processed foods and improve their eating habits. However, these efforts have reportedly not led to any changes in President Trump's dietary habits.
Dr. Oz also shared a recent anecdote from the presidential plane. He said that when President Trump saw an orange soda on his desk, he remarked, "This drink is good for you and kills cancer cells," and added, "Since it's made from fresh fruit, it can't be harmful," expressing this idea as well.
Donald Trump Jr. laughed at these comments but also noted that President Trump remains energetic despite his age. He added, "Even if he doesn't follow a perfect diet, it seems he at least wants to inform people about these matters."
Dr. Oz gave a positive evaluation of President Trump's health. Referring to his direct examination of Trump during the 2016 presidential election, Dr. Oz said, "Even though he didn't take supplements, his testosterone levels were very high and his health was excellent."

President Trump is also well known as a fast food enthusiast. After winning the 2024 U.S. presidential election, a photo was released showing him on his private plane in front of McDonald's food.
