Choi Eunseok Running for Daegu Mayor: "Unification Is Essential... I Will Resign My Assembly Seat"
"If Selected as People Power Party's Final Candidate, Will Resign from National Assembly Before April 30"
Choi Eunseok, a member of the People Power Party running in the Daegu mayoral primary election, emphasized the absolute necessity of unifying the party's candidates. He also announced that, if chosen as the final candidate, he would step down from his seat in the National Assembly before May.
On April 15, Choi stated on his social media accounts, "No matter which of the six People Power Party candidates becomes the final candidate, we must become one." He further stressed, "Unification with candidates Joo Ho-young and Lee Jin-sook is not a choice but a necessity."
He added, "If I am selected as the final candidate, I will not hesitate to go through the process of joining hands with both of them and uniting our intentions."

He continued, "If I am selected as our party's final candidate, I will resign from the National Assembly by April 30." His plan is to hold the Daegu mayoral election and the National Assembly by-election simultaneously, in order to retain the party's seat and establish a foothold for victory.
