Resolving Map Inconsistencies... Sancheong-gun Improves Cadastral Administration
Continuous Cadastral Map Improvement Completed
Enhanced Efficiency Expected in Civil Service Processing
Sancheong-gun, South Gyeongsang Province, announced on April 15 that it has completed its continuous cadastral map improvement project as well as the revision of land use districts and zones.
Until now, unlike individual cadastral maps that had been converted to the World Geodetic System, the continuous cadastral maps and land use district/zone maps were managed based on the old local coordinate system. As a result, issues of inconsistency between maps had been continuously raised.
This led to persistent calls for ensuring the consistency and accuracy of data in various permit and approval processes, county management planning, development projects, and civil petition handling.
Through this project, Sancheong-gun improved its continuous cadastral maps based on individual cadastral maps and, based on these, also revised the maps related to land use districts and zones. As a result, the accuracy and consistency of spatial information have been significantly enhanced.
In addition, the revised results have been incorporated into administrative systems and uploaded to related platforms, including the Korea Real Estate Administration System (KRAS).
The county expects that this project will play a crucial role in establishing key infrastructure for future administration, such as building digital twins, realizing smart administration, and formulating data-driven urban and regional plans.
