Busan Launches Future City Support Center to Enhance Communication for Aging City Redevelopment
From "On-Site Visiting Consultation" to a Permanent Centralized Consultation System
The city of Busan will operate a dedicated consultation center to support the redevelopment of aging planned cities.
On April 14, Busan City announced that it will temporarily open the "Busan Metropolitan Future City Support Center."
The center, the first of its kind outside the metropolitan area, will serve as a consultation hub for redevelopment projects of aging planned cities, providing customized consulting and on-site counseling for residents.
This measure was taken in response to the rapidly increasing demand for consultations as redevelopment projects are underway in six areas: Haeundae, Hwamyeong·Geumgok, Dadae, Mandeok, Mora, and Gaegeum·Dangam.
The center will be jointly operated by the city and Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH), offering services such as one-on-one consultations, guidance on project procedures, tailored consulting for each complex, and support for project briefings. Unlike the previous "on-site visiting consultation" method, the center will now provide a permanent, centralized consultation system.
During the temporary operation period, in-person consultations will be available twice a week, with continuous telephone consultations also offered. The city plans to expand operations in response to future demand. By managing consultation records and strengthening cooperation with related organizations, the city aims to reduce confusion in the redevelopment process and enhance administrative responsiveness.
