Sangju City Council Opens 238th Temporary Session (April 13-17)
Supplementary Budget Aims to Cushion Livelihood Impacts
On April 13, the Sangju City Council in North Gyeongsang Province convened the 238th temporary session at the council's plenary chamber, commencing a five-day legislative schedule through April 17.
During the first plenary session, the council approved the agenda for the temporary session period and the proposal explanations for the first supplementary budget plan and the revised fund management plan for 2026. After adjourning, the Special Budget and Accounts Committee was formed, with Jin Taejong as chair and Lee Kyungok as vice chair. The committee will review the first supplementary budget for 2026, which proposes an increase of 55.6 billion won (4.27%) from the original budget of 1.302 trillion won to a total of 1.3576 trillion won.

Sangju City Council Chairperson Ahn Kyungsook stated, "I hope the supplementary budget will serve as an 'economic breakwater' to cushion the impact on citizens' livelihoods and as a 'priming pump' to rekindle the local economy."
