Gyeonggi Provincial Library to Launch "Gyeonggi Humanities Salon" in April
Gyeonggi Provincial Library will run the "Gyeonggi Humanities Salon" program, which combines lectures by prominent figures in the humanities and group discussions, from April to December.
The Gyeonggi Humanities Salon is a regular humanities program where local residents actively participate and share their thoughts. It will be held at 7 PM on the second Tuesday of each month at Planet Gyeonggi Hall, located on the first basement floor of Gyeonggi Provincial Library.
The program is scheduled for weekday evenings to accommodate working professionals and young adults, and after each lecture, participants can join follow-up activities such as book clubs.
Gyeonggi Province plans to expand its humanities and reading network by collaborating with local civic groups.
The program will begin on April 7 with the theme of "Library," featuring book critic Kwonwoo Lee and astronomer Myunghyun Lee as speakers. The selected book for this session is "So We Go to the Library," co-authored by both lecturers.
Next, in May, Professor Kim Jaein of Kyung Hee University will deliver a lecture on "Coexistence of AI and Humans," and in June, literary critic Kwangho Lee will present on "Humanity Through the Literature of the Han River."
All Gyeonggi Province residents aged teenagers and older can apply through the official library website (library.kr). Detailed schedules and information are available on the official website and social media channels.
