iM Financial Group's iM Social Contribution Foundation announced on the 24th that it recently held a ceremony for the "iM Customized Financial Education for Foreign Workers" at the Daegu Foreign Workers Support Center, located in Dalseong-gun, Daegu Metropolitan City. The program aims to enhance the financial capabilities of local foreign workers and prevent crime victimization.
This initiative was designed to help foreign workers who face difficulties using domestic financial services due to language barriers and cultural differences by providing them with practical financial knowledge, thereby supporting their settlement in Korea.
The iM Social Contribution Foundation currently operates a variety of financial education programs for people of all ages and backgrounds, including Finantory, a school-based financial education program; iM Senior Financial College; and iM Hope Plus, a program supporting the self-reliance of single-parent families.
The iM Social Contribution Foundation is conducting the financial education sessions on Sundays, taking into account that foreign workers are typically occupied with their jobs on weekdays.
Specifically, the foundation's iM Dandi Financial Education Team provides practical, daily-life focused education tailored to foreign workers who visit the Daegu Foreign Workers Support Center. The curriculum covers essential topics for living in Korea, such as how to use banks, saving, currency exchange and overseas remittance, and guidelines for preventing voice phishing and financial fraud.
