Shinsegae Group announced on March 24 that Chairman Chong Yongjin visited the construction site of 'Starfield Cheongna', which is being developed in Cheongna International City, Incheon, to inspect the progress of the project.
Starfield Cheongna is the world's first ultra-large integrated leisure and entertainment complex where a 23,000-seat multi-stadium, hotel, infinity pool, and shopping mall are all interconnected. With three basement levels and eight above-ground floors, it has a total floor area of approximately 496,000 square meters (about 150,000 pyeong), making it the largest Starfield to date.

He also emphasized, "Above all, safety comes first," and requested, "Ensure the world's best quality worthy of the title as the world's first multi-stadium that combines sports, leisure, and shopping."
Once Starfield Cheongna is completed, Shinsegae Group’s professional baseball team SSG Landers will use the multi-stadium as its home ballpark starting in 2028. The first place Chairman Chong visited that day was the spectator seats near the home plate on the baseball field. He carefully inspected prototypes of the turf and spectator seats that will be installed on the ground. The hotel and infinity pool will be located to the left of this area, allowing guests to watch baseball games from their hotel rooms or enjoy the games from the infinity pool. The shopping mall will be connected on the right side of the baseball field.
Chairman Chong stated, "I have always thought it would be great to have a stadium in Korea where we could host events like the recently concluded World Baseball Classic (WBC) or concerts by world-renowned artists at any time," adding, "When Starfield Cheongna is completed, it will become a reason for many foreigners from around the world to visit Korea." He further emphasized, "Starfield, which has redefined Korea's integrated shopping malls, is now taking on a new challenge called K-Leisuretainment," and, "Offering new experiences to customers is the way to broaden the ‘Shinsegae’ in their hearts."
