The Carbon Management Sector Honors is presented to leading companies in climate change response by industry in Korea. Hyundai Glovis is the first company in the domestic logistics industry to receive this award for the eighth time.
CDP is a reputable global non-profit organization based in the United Kingdom that conducts environmental, social, and governance (ESG) assessments. Each year, it selectively discloses the carbon emissions, climate risks, and response strategies of around 20,000 companies in approximately 90 countries. This information is published in annual reports and is used by financial institutions around the world to inform their investment decisions.
CDP evaluates companies' climate change response capabilities across eight grades, including Leadership A, Leadership A-, and Management B, and recognizes outstanding companies with awards.
At the end of last year, Hyundai Glovis achieved the highest rating of 'Leadership A' in the '2025 CDP Climate Change Response Assessment.' Since first receiving a Leadership A- rating in 2016, the company has maintained a top-tier rating for nearly a decade.
Hyundai Glovis received high marks for its carbon management activities, including the execution of its Carbon Neutral 2045 strategy, the introduction and transition to low-carbon transportation methods, the expansion of renewable energy usage, and the establishment of a supply chain emissions calculation system.
Hyundai Glovis declared its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2045, five years ahead of the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) 2050 target, and is actively implementing its roadmap.
In land transportation, the company is preparing to transition its fleet by piloting low-carbon vehicles such as hydrogen trucks. In marine transportation, Hyundai Glovis began with the introduction of five LNG dual-fuel car carriers in 2024 and plans to expand the fleet to more than 30 vessels by 2028.
In the renewable energy sector, Hyundai Glovis has signed virtual power purchase agreements (VPPA) with electricity brokerage firms for a total of 127 GWh, contributing to the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure in Korea. Based on the renewable energy certificates it has secured, the company is gradually converting electricity use at all domestic sites to renewable energy.
Hyundai Glovis has established a mid- to long-term reduction roadmap to convert electricity use at its overseas subsidiaries in the Americas and Asia to 100% renewable energy by 2030, and at its European subsidiaries and domestic headquarters by 2040.
