On this day, Hwang Kyunga pledged to expand customized job opportunities for seniors and to promote a qualitative transformation in senior employment.
Hwang Kyunga pointed out, "In some administrative districts of Nam-gu, the proportion of elderly residents has exceeded 25%, and the number of single-person elderly households continues to rise. However, current senior jobs remain limited to simple public work." She stressed, "It is urgent to implement a qualitative shift that can maximize the capabilities of the new senior generation, such as baby boomers, and increase their job satisfaction."
Hwang Kyunga also stated that it is essential to expand digital literacy education for seniors who experience discomfort or anxiety when using mobile phones or kiosks in daily life. She emphasized the urgency of introducing a 'senior-to-senior care' (where seniors care for other seniors) model utilizing AI technology, especially as the era of artificial intelligence becomes more integrated into everyday life.
In particular, she explained that since healthy and skilled baby boomers are entering the senior job market, there is a growing need to develop specific plans for introducing new types of jobs closely connected to daily life, which are in high demand socially.
Hwang Kyunga emphasized, "We must move away from the current focus on simple public work for seniors and expand customized job opportunities based on the experience seniors have accumulated, such as local safety guardians, school and child care assistants, traditional market revitalization support, cultural and tourism interpretation, and public facility management. Alongside this, we will establish a variety of job models, including public-interest, competency-based, social participation, and role-based positions."
